Historic Bar and Grill Destroyed by Fire in Harrisville

Alpena, Mich.-What use to be a historic, popular restaurant in Harrisville is now no more. A fire caused major damage to Ki Cuyler’s Dugout Tavern on US-23 South.

Multiple fire departments were dispatched to the restaurant around 3 am Friday morning. The Harrisville landmark was named after former major league baseball player, and Harrisville native, Ki-Ki Cuyler.

The family owned the restaurant for decades and then sold the restaurant to a new owner. Many locals reflected on fond memories of eating, dancing and even working at the special place.

WBKB News was able to speak to the current restaurant owner. He told us that he was unsure if he would rebuild after losing everything. The fire remains under investigation at this time.
