HILLMAN, Mich. — One Hillman woman has a chance to win it big. She is already guaranteed at least $100,000 but it’s possible she walks away with even more after winning the chance to go on the Michigan Lottery’s “Big Spin” game.
Michelle Sanders is a proud mother of three and also has three grandchildren. Her son Caleb is in his senior year of high school and was a talented running back for the Hillman Tigers football team.
After being let go from her job at the register of deeds office just 10 days before Christmas, she was beginning to wonder what she was going to do for money, especially during the stressful time of the holidays. Her luck changed when she found out in early January that she had won a chance to participate in the “Big Spin”.
“My son was home that day and I ran to his room and I’m banging on his door and I’m like, ‘you need to open the door and you need to read this! Tell me if this is real! Am I reading this right?” said Sanders. “From there I called my daughter and she actually called the number and said, ‘mom this is legit.'”
With the minimum prize of $100,000, and the possibility of winning up to $2 million, Sanders says she already feels blessed and that this will take a huge weight off her shoulders. “I’m not a greedy person and I’m so thankful and even the smallest prize amount will help me and my family right now. Anything else is a gift.”
The Big Spin begins on Feb. 10 after evening lottery drawings.
