Hillman Tigers Volleyball Team Win on Parents Night 3-1

HILLMAN, MI – The Hillman Tigers have been fierce in the North Star League when it comes to volleyball. Yesterday they hosted Tawas Area on Parents Night and with the Hillman Hype Squad on the sideline, the girls were feeling ready to go.

First set and the ball is gonna get set up for Cassidy Menac who gets the spike over the net for the Hillman Point.

In the same set, McKenna Klein would get a quick spike over to the left hand corner for a great kill. Hillman went on to win the first set 25-20.

Tawas would come back though on the attack. The Braves would control an incoming spike and the ball would be set up for Brooke Chivia. She makes a great spike as the Tigers would be just out of position for the return

The second set would be close early on as McKenna Klein would get another great spike just passed the Tawas front line for the Hillman point. The Tigers would later pull away in the second set winning 25-17.

Moving on to the third set, the ball would be bounced between multiple players right at the net, but Cassidy Benac would just get it over the net saving the play. Tawas would try for a spike attempt but it would not clear the net.  A great point for Benac but unfortunately later in the set she would go down with an apparent ankle injury and would not return in this game.

Tawas would be back on the attack and Elise Klingen would spike the ball off two separate Tigers to get the point for the Braves. Tawas takes set three winning 25-13 as they look to come back into this one.

In the fourth set Hillman would hunker down and perform much better. Nicole Barbeau would just tip the ball back over to the Tawas side for the point and to win the final set.

Hillman wins set four 25-16 and the overall match against Tawas 3-1. Hillman will be on the road to face Oscoda next Tuesday and we hope for a speedy recovery for Cassidy Benac.
