Hillman Buck Pole features 18 fresh kills on opening day of firearm season

HILLMAN, Mich. — Sunday, the Hillman Chamber of Commerce hosted a Buck Pole contest to kick off the 2020 firearm season. A total of 18 bucks were brought in for the weigh-in. Even though the event was free, hunters had to be within a 30 mile radius of Hillman to compete. They had until 7 p.m. to bring back their buck they shot. Points were determined by the number of points on the antlers plus the spread. Below are the results from Sunday’s contest.
