ALCONA, Mich. — Christopher Michael Kaczmarek, 47, of Greenbush was arraigned Dec. 8 on several felony charges after his arrest Friday, Dec. 4, according to the Alcona County Sherriff’s Office.

Michigan’s 81st District Court in Alcona charged Kaczmarek with felonious assault, three counts of felon in possession of a firearm, three counts of felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm while intoxicated third offense, and a weapons offense charge, specifically possession of a taser.

The Sherriff’s office says that they were called to a home in Mikado Twp. because Kaczmarek was pointing a firearm at the resident. When they arrived, Kaczmarek had already left the scene. Shortly after, deputies were called to a single-vehicle crash, and Kaczmarek had been the driver. They found him running in the woods adjacent to the road, wielding a rifle, when they retrieved the firearm and arrested Kaczmarek.

Kaczmarek’s residence in Greenbush was searched the following day, and deputies recovered firearms, ammunition, high capacity magazines, silencers, and a taser. The Alcona County Sherriff’s department is now working with the FBI and the U.S bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms in an open investigation.
