Grand opening of Wolverine’s third credit union coming soon

ALPENA, Mich. — Another business recently popped up at a new location. Wolverine State Credit Union recently opened a new branch in Oscoda Township.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place May 2 at 9 a.m. for the grand opening event. The celebration will continue until 5 p.m. with food and refreshments provided for all who attend. The Oscoda–AuSable Chamber of Commerce will commence with free give–a–ways every hour.

CEO Nick Montie said the Oscoda branch is Wolverine’s third building location. The others are located here in Alpena on Bagley and Chisholm streets.

“We feel that opening a location outside of the community is a great way for us to really expand Wolverine State Credit Union outside our traditional geographic location,” said Montie.  “We realize there’s a unique opportunity in the Oscoda community. There have been a couple financial institutions that pulled out over the last couple years and there are some looking at lessening their current presence.”

Montie said Wolverine is ready to grow in that community.
