Gradual warming takes place this weekend

Cloudy skies and light snow showers kept things unsettled today throughout the Sunrise Side as a clipper system brings heavy snow downstate. Snow flurries will be decreasing this evening as drier air arrives overnight. The weekend consists of partly cloudy to partly sunny skies with stray chances of snow. Low temperatures will hover around zero for lows while highs warm from the mid 20s on Saturday to the upper 20s on Sunday.

High pressure will be in control for the 1st half of the workweek keeping Northeast Michigan fairly tranquil. Mostly sunny skies should be expected through Valentine’s Day with temperatures finally climbing above freezing by midweek.
