ALPENA – Governor Rick Snyder and First Lady Sue Snyder recently announced Michigan’s first 24-hour statewide sexual assault helpline.
“Sue and I want survivors to know that trained, caring professionals are prepared to listen and assist them along their journey toward healing,” said the governor in a press release.
Staffers will provide counsel and support to survivors and the ones they love, including specialized training in child sexual abuse, victim’s rights and health options.
The hotline number is 1-855–VOICES–4.
Those who aim to file a police report should contact a local law enforcement agency.
