Governor educational plan
ALPENA, Mich – Governor Whitmer has a new educational plan to increase mental health access for students, retain teachers, and expand free Preschool.
This plan will increase spending at 5% per student. The governor is prioritizing education in her budget, as this will be the largest educational funding increase in the last 20 years. 361 million of the budget will go toward health clinics within schools. This plan will also incorporate bonuses for teachers, growing from $2,000 to $5,000 in 2025.
