ALPENA, Mich. — Alpena added two more Wildcats to the list of graduating seniors that are signing to become a collegiate athlete. Baseball standouts Bruz Copping and Aidan Goike signed to play for the Delta College Pioneers.
Copping was a great utility player for the Wildcats. He threw on the mound, and covered short stop or third base. The three or four batter in the lineup averaged .360 and contributed 32 hits, 20 runs, 13 RBI and had a .453 on base percentage. On the mound, Copping finished with a record of (10–2) overall and (5–0) in the Big North Conference. He dished out 58 strikeouts.
Goike covered center field, helped out on the mound and was the lead off batter. He batted .320, was the team leader with 31 runs and added 32 hits and 19 RBI. In the outfield, Goike had a .980 fielding percentage.
These guys are excited to play college ball as well as join the same squad. Copping will study accounting and Goike will earn a business marketing degree. Baseball training starts at Delta College in September.
