Girl Scouts of Alpena Carol Down the Halls of Tendercare Alpena

The Girl Scouts of Alpena were able to bring smiles to seniors at Tendercare Alpena over the weekend when they went down the halls singing.

The troops volunteered at the center singing Christmas carols to each hall of seniors and their workers.

Caught by surprise the seniors followed the girls around the building and even joined in singing along.

Scout mother, Evonne Jasmine said caroling is a great way for the girls to give back during the holidays.

“Community service does not cost anything. And this is a great way to give back without having to spend any money. The residences actually enjoy this and this is a good way to bring a little bit more joy to their lives,” Jasmine said.

10 girls volunteered this weekend. After caroling the girls headed over to the Vietnam Veterans Center to help the chapter wrap gifts for Operation Holidays, Toys for Kids, and Feed a Family.

The Girl Scouts of Alpena have been singing for 3 years.

The girls will be back out caroling Monday night at the Seniors Citizen Center.
