Gembel Sisters Receive Awards After Traveling to Lansing to Present ‘Fallen Officer’ Plaques to MSP
What started has something small became something big. Two sisters from Alpena recently made their way to Lansing, Michigan to donate over $2,000 from their fundraiser: “The Michigan State Police Fallen Officers Fund.”
Lilly Gembel said she became inspired to donate because she wanted to do something special for those who dedicate their lives for others.
The two young ladies also presented two wooden plaques they designed in memory of two Michigan State Police motorcycle officers who died in the line of duty.
Local MSP Alpena Post Trooper, Ashley Simpson said she’s amazed at the gifts these two sisters provided to the police force. Gembel said she and her sister hopes to inspire others their age.
