Funding is available for Alpena youth and recreation facilities
ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena County Youth and Recreation Committee will be holding their meeting Thursday to discuss the submitted applications requesting funding.
Back in 2010 residents approved a half a mill and have renewed it to provide youth and recreation facilities and support for the County of Alpena. In Thursday’s meeting applicants will be given the opportunity to give their presentations for 2021 funding.
According to Chairman, Tony Suszek, $450,000 is available for distribution and they have received approximately $900,000 in requests.
Suszek says they currently have four interviews that will be held Thursday which includes funding for Pied Piper school and Thunder Bay Marshall Arts.
The meeting will be held tomorrow September 3, at 6 p.m. at the Trailhead on Woodward Avenue and is open to the public.
