ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena County George N. Fletcher library will be hosting a free workshop on how to repair your masonry on historic properties. This workshop is presented by Blair Bates of the Michigan Historic Preservation Network.
The workshop’s purpose is to investigate stone and brick and some common issues associated with their deterioration and repair. Participants will learn everything from how and when to replace stones on bricks to the importance of selecting the right replacement mortar.
The workshop will take place on September 29 between 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
