ALPENA, Mich. — A former Alpena judge now resides in the county jail.

Michigan State Police arrested former judge Michael Mack for contempt of court on Friday. Specifically, Mack had failed to appear for his drunk–driving hearings earlier this year. He also failed to turn himself in for those failed appearances. As such, Kalaska judge Lynne Buday sentenced him to 30 days in the Alpena County Jail.

She also adjusted the terms of his bond.

State Police arrested Mack twice this past spring for drunk driving. His blood alcohol content at the time was roughly three times the legal limit.

His next court appearance is January 2022.
