Alpena Meijer introduces food waste reduction program
ALPENA, Mich. — Supply chain distribution problems have caused food prices to increase.
Low staffing and transportation issues force customers to eat the cost of national distribution problems that contribute to overall costs.
Alpena residents can now use a new app to help save money on food costs.
“So Flashfood here is an opportunity for customers to purchase food, there savings are fifty percent or greater on the items that their buying. The items are post dated, so they may be good for two or three days before expiration, but they are getting the items at least fifty percent off and sometimes greater savings.”
Customers can download the Flashfood app to use the new Flashfood service at Meijer’s.
