Winter season has been very harsh especially when it comes to blood drives. Due to unexpected weather conditions blood drives across Northeast Michigan have decreased.
The decline is now being considered a critical and urgent situation. The deadly flu season hasn’t made blood drive opportunities any easier.
In fact having any kind of cold can cause blood donations to also take a downward spiral. All blood types are needed in the Alpena, Alcona, Presque Isle and Montmorency counties.
