ALPENA, MI – It was Big North action with the Alpena Wildcats against the Cadillac Vikings. The guys had a tough break against Traverse City Central and are back at home hoping to turn things around with a win against the team that beat them earlier this season.

This game not only was in tribute to the oxford high school victims, but also inducted four Alpena alumni students and one former coach into the Athletic Wall of Fame. Jordan Ferguson, Ami Milligan, Tyler Pintar and Josh Sylvester were the athletes awarded and Coach William J. Romstadt joined those four in being inducted.

Getting into the game, the Vikings with it as Haden Montague drives in and tries a floater over the Wildcats. That shot goes of the nice move from Jaden.

Now the Wildcats with it, this first half was almost all Alpena. Devin Lamay drives on the fast break and makes the great layup for two.

Lamay now gets it to Tucker Bright, he’s gonna fire a three-pointer and sinks that triple for the Wildcats.

Ryan Voltz gets it over to Austin Prue. He tries for a three of his own and that one goes as well.

Second quarter, the Cadillac Senior Cole Jenema is gonna go coast-to-coast and fights through traffic to make the slick layup for the Vikings. He led Cadillac with 22 points.

Now for Alpena, Mason Mumford gets the ball down low, works his way up and makes the close range shot. He finished with 12 points.

Time running down on the first half, Cooper Bright with it. He led Alpena with 16 points but makes the assist to Easton Srebnik to try a buzzer-beater-three and it falls. A great shot as Alpena headed into halftime with the lead.

That lead would then just vanish. Cadillac came out of the half rejuvenated as Charlie Howell works into the paint, draws the foul and sinks the layup for the and-one. Alpena would not get back in control from the second half onward.
