ALPENA, Mich. — The First Federal/mBank Community Foundation awarded more than $37-thousand dollars to local charities and organizations.
Foundation President Mike Mahler says First Federal wants to be a resource to communities in northeast lower Michigan.
“Every grant we give, allows one more organization to make a positive impact, and we are thrilled to be able to increase the grant award to $1,500 this year to help these organizations do even more,” says Mahler.
Donations were given to institutions like Thunder Bay Theatre, Alpena Community College and the Oscoda County Food Pantry.
For the 2019 fiscal year, grants increased to $1,500 from $1,000 dollars. Grant applications for the first quarter will be accepted until march 4th. Click here to apply.
