Fireworks on the 4th looks promising
ALPENA, Mich – Lafarge made a generous offer to the Alpena community.
In a statement released yesterday the cement plant said they will match every dollar the community raises for this year’s fireworks show.
The estimated budget for the fireworks show is 23,000.
If the funds are not raised, it is a possibility that a smaller show can take place but that is determined by the vendor.
President and CEO of Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce, Adam Poll, said that they did active fund raising at their office on Chisholm Street yesterday.
Adam is optimistic about the fireworks show happening on the 4th of July but he is also mindful of the financial hardships some in the community may be facing.
