Firearms Deer Season officially opens November 15

ALPENA, Mich.— If you enjoy hunting and the fresh air of the outdoors, this may be your favorite time of year. Firearms Deer season opens Sunday, November 15.

Hunters can hunt on public land until the end of November. According to Wildlife Biologist Shelby Adams, this season will have an increased deer population.

Hunters are reminded to have a license, hunter orange gear and to tag deer correctly. Hunters are encouraged to have their deer checked at their local check stations for tuberculosis.

All check stations will remain open everyday this month from 10 am to 3pm except Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
