ALPENA, Mich. — The third week of high school football in Northeast Michigan is officially in the books, and there was a full slate of Friday night games for the first time this season.
In 11-man football, Oscoda lost at Frankfurt 32-16. Alpena was at Petoskey, and the Wildcats dropped the game 35-14. Johannesburg Lewiston lost to Harbor Springs 3-14, and Tawas dropped their game against Benzie Central 42-12.
For 8-man football, Rogers City beat Onaway by a score of 41-0. Alcona and Heston Academy wasn’t any closer, Alcona won that 66-0. Whittemore Prescott picked up their first win of the season at Posen, winning 42-32. Hale lost to Peck 20-14, and Au Gres Sims won a close one with Mio 62-54. Hillman picked up a victory in Atlanta by a score of 50-6.
