Few flurries early Tuesday; Getting warmer Wednesday

High temperatures Monday were locally coolest at the shoreline because winds were coming out of the east about 15 mph, off of Lake Huron. The high reached 30 degrees in Alpena, 31 degrees in Oscoda, Michigan and 36 degrees in Atlanta, Michigan. Temperatures will become slightly warmer Tuesday.

A major storm system is bringing snow to parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin. This is the same storm that brought blizzard conditions to Colorado over the weekend. The bulk of this system will affect areas to our south and west. However, a few flurries might brush by Northeast Michigan in the predawn hours Tuesday.

Future Radar indicates the potential of some flurries from about 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday. After that, the chance of flurries will diminish and we’ll see mostly cloudy skies throughout the afternoon and evening.

Tuesday: A few flurries possible early, then mostly cloudy. Early-morning temperatures will begin close to 25 degrees. Afternoon highs will reach about 40 degrees. Evening temperatures will be mainly in the middle/lower 30s.

Wednesday: Mix of sun and clouds. Predawn temperatures will drop to around 26 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the middle 40s by the late-morning. Afternoon highs will get up to near 46 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool from around 40 into the 30s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy with a stronger breeze. Predawn temperatures will head into the upper 20s. Afternoon highs will be close to 42 degrees. Evening temperatures will be in the 30s.
