ALPENA, Mich — On Monday Attorney General Dana Nessel filed motions for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction regarding
Enbridge’s disclosure of the damage to an anchor support.
In addition to Nessel’s motion filing, Governor Whitmer requested Enbridge shut down the line 5 pipeline because of the severe cause of damage.
In a statement released yesterday, Enbridge said they feel the injunction is legally unstoppable, unnecessary and will be vigorously opposed.
According to Spokesperson, Vern Yu, they have been working closely with various administrations to ensure safety of the dual pipelines.
Yu also said they have provided engineering assessments and other materials to state officials.
