Ella White Ensures Teachers and Students are safe after yesterday’s scare

With the suspect still at large, Ella White Elementary headed back to school. WBKB was there to see how teachers and parents felt about class being back in session

Around 10 a.m on Thursday morning teachers immediately went into a lockdown after there was a report of a possible armed male suspect at Ella White. Yesterday parents were seen running to their cars after dismissing their children from school after the initial report was sent out. With the suspect still at large, parents had mixed emotions about sending their kids to school. Although law enforcement was present at Ella White to ensure students and staff felt safe.

Alpena Police are are still searching for the suspect at this time and are asking anyone with information to please contact any local law enforcement.
