Dylan Orr weighs in the largest fish at the 45th Michigan Brown Trout Tournament

ALPENA, Mich. — The 45th Michigan Brown Trout Tournament came to a close on Sunday with the largest fish being weighed in at 24.75 pounds by Dylan Orr. His salmon weighed less than one pound of the 2018 largest catch by Ian Duranceau and the Sandcrawlers who caught a 25.35 pound king. Three fish landed a spot on the learderboard on the ninth and final day of the tournament.

“Had three or four rods tangled at the same time and still got him in,” said Orr. “It was a mess.”

Orr’s fishing teammate Alec Brietzke loves competing in tournaments. While they did win the largest fish prize, Brietzke did lose one thing during this tournament.

“One day I even lost my Brown Trout hat,” said Alec Brietzke. “Blew right off my head. Right in the lake, so that was disappointing.”
