Dry weather moves in and a warming trend heading into the weekend

The last bits of scattered showers are finally beginning to move out of Northeast Michigan. This storm system is now heading toward the New England states, although some bits of unsettled weather have lingered as far west as Michigan. Drying conditions from the west/northwest of our area will move in. Friday will still be mainly cloudy and likely completely dry.

High temperatures Thursday got up to a chilly 41 degrees in Alpena. Temperatures to the west of our area have been getting warmer. Temperatures warmed to 54 degrees in Chicago and 51 degrees in Minneapolis. Similarly warm temperatures will arrive locally Friday and last through the weekend with daily highs near 50 degrees or in the 50s.

A change in the weather pattern will bring dry conditions for the next few days. Chances of precipitation range from nearly nothing to very low through the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will be brighter in comparison to Friday.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, some afternoon breaks of sun. Early-morning lows will drop to 34 degrees. Temperatures will climb to the lower 40s during the late-morning. Afternoon highs will get up to 50 degrees. Evening temperatures will be mainly in the middle/lower 40s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Predawn temperatures will begin near 34 degrees. During the late-morning, Temperatures will rise to the middle 40s. Afternoon highs will reach close to 54 degrees. Evening temperatures will head into the 40s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, some sun. Predawn temperatures will cool to about 32 degrees. Afternoon highs will warm to around 55 degrees. Evening temperatures will go into the 40s.
