Drier tomorrow daytime while still warm; Colder briefly on Friday

High temperatures today reached the middle and upper 40s across Northeast Michigan, aided by a breeze out of the southwest at 10-15 mph. We saw cloudy skies all day, then some scattered rain showers arriving during the afternoon.

A weak low pressure system is generating a round of scattered showers moving through Northeast Michigan this afternoon and evening, gradually shifting to the east. After these showers end, there will likely be enough moisture in the lowest part of the atmosphere combined with nearly calm winds to create fog later tonight. Any fog should dissipate tomorrow morning, and we could see a peek of sun tomorrow afternoon as drier air from the west moves into our area.

Overnight low temperatures will drop to around 30 degrees as rain/snow showers come to an end. Some fog is possible tonight and tomorrow morning, as temperatures rise into the lower 30s. Temperatures should reach a high around 43 degrees tomorrow afternoon with limited sun mixed with clouds. Patchy drizzle or flurries are possible tomorrow evening/nighttime.

Daily high temperatures are on a wild ride over the next few days. High temperatures will reach the 40s again tomorrow. Then on Friday, a strong breeze out of the north will deliver colder air as afternoon temperatures only get into the 30s. Temperatures will rebound over the weekend, peaking close to 50 degrees on Sunday … then dropping to the 30s on Monday.

Overall, much of tomorrow should remain dry other than a chance of showers or flurries in the evening. Friday will feel colder with afternoon temperatures near 34 degrees and a breeze out of the north at 15-20 mph. The weekend will start with plenty of sunshine on Saturday, although temperatures will start in the teens early Saturday morning, highs will likely reach the lower 40s.
