Downtown parking regulations may affect motorists

ALPENA, Mich. —

The Alpena Downtown Development Authority is exploring new ticketing and parking regulations. DDA board members are discussing adding more lots downtown for general and employee parking.

An option to add signage warning motorists their car tires could be chalked if parked in specific lot areas… is being considered. The DDA parking attendant will continue to log license plate numbers and time stamps to determine whether to issue a ticket.

No final decisions have been made, but motorists are encouraged to park in the proper designated areas and to keep track of parking time.
