Downstate Woman Appears In Court On Drug Chargers
A woman who nearly over dosed on an Indian Trails Bus in the Alpena Wal-Mart parking lot appeared in court this week.
21–year–old Halie Elizabeth Jinks plead guilty on Monday to possession of Diazepam and possession of marijuana.
In exchange for the guilty plea jinks will be sentenced under a law referred to as 7411, which could lead to her charges being dismissed once her probation ends.
On October 18th authorities responded to a call from the Alpena Wal-Mart regarding a woman overdosing on heroin.
Jinks was transported to Mid–Michigan Medical Center Alpena after EMS personnel administered the opiate inhibitor, Naloxone.
Jinks has been in custody since the October incident, and is expected to be released in the next several days.
The Flint area native will be sentenced in Alpena on January 16th.
