Road Commission recommends detour
ALPENA, Mich.– The Alpena County Road Commission has a recommended detour for those who use the Bagley Bridge.
Construction work on the bridge will run from February to December.
During that time, drivers will need to take alternate routes North and South.
Ryan Brege said the commission already has planned signage for the best route.
“There will be signs up directing traffic around the detour, which is basically going to be Chisholm Street to 11th Avenue to Ripley to M–32. That’s been identified as the most efficient for traffic.”
Brege added that those who live further West on Long Lake Road can also take Herron Road to m–32.
He said that he understands that the construction will cause inconvenience, but believes the updated bridge will benefit the community.
