Decker, Baller, Hansen and Peters will run at Michigan International Speedway

This Saturday, local runners will be competing in the state cross country finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. One of those runners is Sara Decker. Last Saturday in East Jordan, she finished in 13th with a time of (21:57.5) in the Division 4 regional race. This will be the sophomore’s first time competing in the state finals.

“When I’m running I just try to keep motivating myself,” said Decker. “I just try to stay with the person I’m running with and pass them at the end.”

Rogers City’s Morgan Baller and Nina Hansen will be in the same race as Decker. Baller crossed the line at (20:57.5) giving her a sixth place finish, while Hansen placed 11th with a time of (20:57.5).

Onaway’s Teddy Peters qualified as he finished in 13th place with a time of (17:42.9).
