Death of 3-year-old child in Oscoda ruled a homicide

OSCODA TOWNSHIP, Mich. —  Authorities have released few details in a homicide investigation underway in Oscoda.  Township police said they were dispatched to a residence on Cedar Lake Road early Friday.  They said there was a report of a human foot protruding from a garbage bag at the location.

Officers located a deceased three-year-old child at the home.  Authorities said foul play was suspected.  The victim was identified as a resident of the home on Cedar Lake Road.  Police said a suspect who frequently stays at the home has been identified and arrested.

Oscoda Township Police declined to release any further information, including the identity of the suspect or the victim.
