Johannesburg, MI. — A 57-year-old downstate man was arraigned Monday after he was arrested with a loaded rifle while shining.
Jeffery Prather of Dearborn (MI.) was arrested Sunday night shortly after 11 P.M., when Michigan State Troopers observed him shining green and amber lights, from his vehicle, into a field just south of M-32 near Johannesburg.
After stopping the vehicle the subsequent search turned up a loaded 22-magnum rifle concealed in the center counsel.
Troopers seized the rifle along with ammunition in the vehicle.
Prather was lodged in the Otsego County Jail.
A warrant from the prosecutors office charged him with possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, as well as using artificial lighting while in possession of a loaded firearm.
