Daily COVID-19 update May 12, 2020

There have been 469 cases and 90 newly reported deaths as of 3 p.m. Totals now show 48,021 cases and 4,674 deaths in the state.

While there still haven’t been any newly reported cases in our area, District Health Department 2 and 4 are warning of two possible COVID-19 exposure locations. This alert is meant to make the public aware of locations that may have allowed for low risk exposure. The first location is the Auto Value in Oscoda Township on May 2 in the late afternoon. There has also been a possible exposure at the Walmart in Alpena on May 4 from 8 p.m. to closing time.

Individuals who may have visited these places at these times should monitor for symptoms consistent with COVID–19. If no symptoms develop within 14 days, there is nothing further to be done. Those who develop symptoms should contact their doctor and consider getting tested.
