GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The State of Michigan partnered with Meijer pharmacies to administer the COVID–19 vaccines. Meijer will receive their first 1,950 doses of COVID–19 vaccine this week to distribute in Wayne County.
Senior Director of Corporate Communications Frank Guglielmi said they will distribute the vaccines within the first 72 hours of receiving them. Guglielmi added that eventually the vaccines will reach Northeast Michigan.
Guglielmi said getting registered is the most important thing right now. He said the State of Michigan has asked them to focus on the age group of 65 and over and as more vaccines come to the state, the phases of vaccination will change.
To register for the COVID–19 vaccine at Meijer you can text COVID to 75049, visit clinic.meijer.com or register at a Meijer pharmacy.
