COVID-19 Update: June 17, 2020
LANSING, Mich. —Governor Gretchen Whitmer said today the number of COVID-19 cases statewide is declining, and that very few states have dropped their infection rates of the virus as low as Michigan. Also today, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Medical Executive Dr. Joneigh Khaldun said every region except Kalamazoo has under 20 new cases per million residents per day, representing a significant decline in the number of confirmed cases.
Locally, the latest COVID-19 numbers released by District Health Departments No. 2 and 4 are reported as follows today:
