Cooler temperatures for the end of the week

High temperatures Thursday reached 37 degrees in Alpena, 38 degrees in Saginaw, Mich. and 36 degrees in Houghton. Temperatures are looking pretty similar for Friday. Light winds from the NNW will bring even cooler temperatures Saturday.

A weak disturbance rolling through Northeast Michigan will provide a chance of scattered flurries overnight and into Friday morning. Chances of flurries are expected to dissipate in the afternoon.

Snowfall amounts are looking really unimpressive. Only light shades of blue are showing up on the future snowfall map showing very low amounts. The forecast through Friday calls for less than 1 inch of snow.

Friday: Chance of flurries in the morning. Early-morning temperatures will begin near 30 degrees. Temperatures will be in the middle 30s during the late-morning. Afternoon highs will climb to 38 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool to the lower 30s/upper 20s.

Saturday: A mix of sun and clouds with cooler temperatures. Predawn lows will go into the middle 20s. Late-morning temperatures will be near 30 degrees. Afternoon highs will be around 34 degrees. Evening temperatures will drop to the middle/upper 20s.

Sunday: Cloudy skies. Early-morning temperatures will be in the lower/middle 20s. Afternoon highs will get to around the middle 30s. Evening temperatures will head into the upper 20s.
