Contents revealed in 1950’s time capsule

ALPENA, Mich. — A large crowd gathered today at the old Catholic Central High School in anticipation of discovering what was inside the time capsule found a couple of months ago.

While waiting in suspense for the reveal, a few guessed what they thought would be inside of the capsule.  A rosary, newspaper, music discs, and  year book were just a few guesses.

The first item pulled from the box was a $1 bill from 1950.

Contractor Bruce Dietz discovered the capsule a couple of months ago and gave it to the Besser Museum.  The land originally belonged to Jesse Besser in the 1950’s.  He then sold the land to the catholic church for their school.

Many of the people in attendance were graduates from the the 1950’s.  Some even came representing their alma mater through clothing and class rings.

The contents from the capsule were placed in a glass casing and left on display for the remainder of the day.

The number one answer given when guessing what was in the capsule was a rosary.
