Clearing skies late Thursday; Hotter this weekend

High temperatures today reached 73 degrees in Alpena and 69 degrees in Cheboygan. Warmer temperatures are located just to our southwest, Saginaw had a high of 84 degrees and it was 87 degrees in Chicago. Daily high temperatures will get hotter over the next few days.

Thursday, the UV index will be very high with increasing sunshine late-day. Air quality levels are looking good. Tree pollen levels will increase to high levels tomorrow.

Thursday will feel comfortable with dew points in the 50s and Friday will be similar. Dew points will rise to the 60s Saturday, making it feel muggier. Sunday will feel very sticky with dew points in the lower 70s.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy skies early, then clearing. Predawn lows will be near 58 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the upper 60s by 10 a.m. Afternoon highs will reach about 80 degrees. Early-evening temperatures will be in the lower 70s.

Friday: Sunny and comfy. Predawn temperatures will be in the upper 50s. Late-morning temperatures will be in the lower 70s. Afternoon highs will be close to 82 degrees. Early-evening temperatures will be in the middle 70s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy, hot and humid. Early-morning lows will be close to 60 degrees. Late-morning temperatures will rise to the middle 70s. Afternoon highs will heat up to 91 degrees! Temperatures will remain quite warm during the early-evening, in the middle 80s.
