Christmas in the Village cancelled
HARRISVILLE, Mich. — Due to the recent increase in COVID–19 cases in Alcona County, the Alcona Chamber of Commerce made the difficult decision to cancel their annual Christmas in the Village.
This event is held every year where the community in Alcona County gathers for local shopping and children’s activities.
Alcona Chamber of Commerce Secretary, Monica Spears, said even with the cancellation, it is still important to support local businesses and how it benefits the community.
Spears also added that the Harrisville community is disappointed by the decision because it is something they look forward to each year but given the rise in COVID–19 cases, it was the best decision.
