Certain Recycled Materials Find a Unique Home

Alpena- Certain types of recycled materials travel far and wide. Sometimes they even travel internationally. For the Alpena Resource Recovery Facility, they are able to ship recycled materials (4-7), also referred to as “4-2-7,” to the Canadian Company, ReVital Polymers, another recycling company. The materials are turned into small pellets that are then sold to car manufactures. The journey starts right here in Alpena, where recycling is continuing to make strides. Residents of Alpena County can now recycle materials 1-7. The ARRF is constantly growing but they still need help in recycling proper materials. A flyer was sent out to all residents, detailing items that should or should not be recycled. The ARRF hopes to have a full scale recycling facility that can accept all plastics.
