Camp-o-Ween proceeds despite rain

ALPENA, Mich.– Rain may have muddled things in the early afternoon, but the families at Long Lake Park made the most of their Saturday.

The third annual Camp–O–Ween may have seen some strong rain Saturday, but the family fun proceeded as planned once things dried up.

For kids, there was the Mummy Race, Eyeball Run, and Halloween Egg Hunt, among other games. Parents enjoyed a bake sale, soup and chili cook–off, and lot–decorating contest.

Campground manager Sarah Jore said her favorite part of the day was driving the tractor.

“I’ve been in charge of hayrides,” Jore said, “And they’ve been super fun. Watching the kids get all excited. Even to be able to drop them off at the different events. It’s Just been a great day so far.”

Kids got to go Trick–or–Treating at 6:30, and the day ended with a screening of the movie “Hocus Pocus” at nightfall.
