Bright and warm Wednesday

Light winds from the south will drive up temperatures Wednesday. Highs will reach the middle 80s throughout most of Northeast Michigan. Temperatures will be a touch cooler lakeside, including Harrisville and Rogers City. We’ll also see plenty of sunshine. For any outdoor activities, makes sure you’re drinking plenty of water and putting on enough sunscreen.

High temperatures will warm to the middle 80s for both Wednesday and Thursday — several degrees above normal for early August. Unsettled weather will dampen the daily high temperatures late-week, close to 80 degrees for Saturday, but that’s going to a be a miniature cool-down. The heat will surge again early next week.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and warm. Early-morning temperatures will drop off to around 58 degrees. Afternoon highs will get up to near 84 degrees. Evening temperatures will go into the 70s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, remains warm. Early-morning lows will be near 61 degrees. Afternoon highs will warm up to about 85 degrees. Evening temperatures will head into the 70s.

Friday: A chance of showers will move in late-day. Early-morning lows will be in the lower 60s. Afternoon highs will reach close to 82 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool from the middle 70s to upper 60s.
