Bright and warm Thursday; Chance of rain late Friday-Saturday

High temperatures today warmed to the middle and upper 70s across the Sunrise Side. Throughout the day we have seen a mix of sun and clouds and a breeze out of the northwest about 10-15 mph. That wind direction does not produce cooler temperatures at the shoreline (which is typical of a breeze out of the east in summertime).

Except for some very isolated showers to the northwest of Alpena, the satellite and radar imagery over the Midwest is largely quiet. Clear skies will move in to our area tonight and tomorrow.

Overnight, low temperatures will cool down to the upper 50s under clear skies. As you’re heading out the door in the morning, temperatures will be close to 60 degrees. In the afternoon, sunny skies will shine as temperatures warm up to the lower 80s.

After the sunny weather tomorrow, clouds will increase on Friday. By Friday evening, a chance of showers will enter the area, and the chance of rain will increase Saturday. Skies are forecast to gradually clear Saturday late-afternoon and evening.

Bright skies tomorrow will help temperatures warm to an afternoon high of 83 degrees. Clouds will build on Friday, leading to an increasing chance of showers Friday night that will continue through Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will cool slightly Friday and Saturday with highs in the upper 70s.
