Both Hillman girls and boys earn wins over Au Gres-Sims

Hillman, Mich — Hillman seniors Alison Samp, Brooke Jones, and Anna Callendar played their final game at Hillman High School Monday night. The girls basketball team is finishing the season with a four game road trip and won’t play at home during districts.

Hillman hosted Au Gres-Sims for the class of 2019’s final home game. Junior Bailey Shook led the way for the Tigers with 15 points in Hillman’s 53-29 victory over the Wolverines. Samp and Jones finished with 13 points each, while Callendar added four.

Samp and Jones were both thankful to the Hillman community for their continued support. “It’s been truly indescribable,” said Samp. Our community has always been so supportive”

“I’m going to miss all the support from my coaches, family, and community,” added Jones.

The Hillman and Au Gres boys teams also collided for the second time this season. The Tigers came out on top for the second time this season with a 56-36 win. Kory Henigan paced Hillman with 26 points in the win. The Tigers have two more home games this season before they host their districts in March.
