Bomb Threat Discovered at Thunder Bay Junior High School

A threat was discovered at Thunder Bay Junior High earlier this afternoon, leading to an evacuation for the safety of the students and staff.

Around 1pm today a written bomb threat was discovered in a boy’s bathroom stall at the school. Due to the threat students and staff were evacuated and transported to Alpena High School. Students were dismissed at their regular time, with buses arriving and departing from the high school as normal.

A Michigan State Police bomb-detecting dog will be brought in as a precaution to sweep the building.

All events from Thunder Bay Junior High were cancelled for the evening. School will resume tomorrow as scheduled.
