Bitter cold early Friday; Warmer over the weekend

Snow is moving to the east and clearing skies are building in. The chance of snow showers will decrease tonight. Friday will start with mostly cloudy skies, but less cloud is expected as of tomorrow evening.

Overnight temperatures will drop to lows near -3 degrees. Friday morning temperatures will start below zero, then afternoon highs will reach about 18 degrees. A light breeze will come from the west, about 5-10 mph.

Temperatures below zero and a light breeze will result in wind chills of -12 to -5 in Northeast Michigan early Friday. Wind chill values will climb above zero, about 5-10 in the afternoon. Milder temperatures will move in Saturday.

Friday should be mainly dry but very cold early, then highs will climb to the upper teens. Temperatures will warm to the upper 20s Saturday afternoon and snow showers will be possible late-day and into Saturday evening. Highs will get close to 30 degrees on Sunday with mostly cloudy skies. The next likely chance of snow will arrive Monday afternoon/evening.
