KALAMAZOO, Mich. — President Biden arrived in Kalamazoo, Michigan today to tour Pfizer’s COVID-19 production facility in the suburb of Portage.
Biden arrived around 2:30 to the Pfizer facility. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and U.S Senator Gary Peters (D, MI) accompanied the President on his tour of the facility.
In remarks given after his tour, Biden said the reasons he traveled to Pfizer today was to show Americans that the vaccine was safe, portray a priority in science from his administration, and thank the workers for their efforts in producing and distributing the vaccine.
He also spoke on his COVID-19 relief bill, and asked U.S Senators to work with him to pass it. Biden said soon the United States would reach 500,000 coronavirus deaths, and he is working on making the pandemic’s end date come sooner.
