Bickel, Studley react to latest MHSAA timeline

ALPENA, Mich. (WBKB-TV) — Oscoda’s Andrea Bickel and Alpena High Athletic Director, Jon Studley reacted to the recent news regarding non-contact sports. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced Wednesday that non-contact sports (bowling, gymnastics, swimming and diving) can begin practice this Saturday.

Contact sports (basketball, ice hockey, wrestling, competitive cheerleading) can also practice starting this Saturday, but they can only do non-contact activities. The updated schedule for basketball, competitive cheer, ice hockey and wrestling pushes finals into late March or early April.
